The Short Version:
Once upon a time there was a boy named Christopher (Some called him Cady) who was lost in the Black Forest of life. He made music with his friends until they didn't really want to make music anymore. So he decided to make his music by himself and sometimes the occasional friend who would stop by his little house in the forest and add little noise to his songs.
All the recording and mixing is done by Christopher at his studio CHAOS Recorders, where he engineers and produces other like minded artists. No one knows how the story will end, but the little boy is now all grown up and will make music and art until fate drops a boulder on his head.
The Long Version:
Christopher Hoffee has been making music for a long time now. His first serious band was way, way back in 1990 with the forming of Blacksmith Union in San Diego. The band did well. He made 3 albums with them, signed with Burt Bacherach's publishing company and then broke off with the band due to the band contracting the dreaded "self-destruct just when things were going good" virus.
Moving back to his home town, Memphis, Tennessee...Christopher started writing material for his next band Fivecrown which formed in San Diego in 1997. They put out two albums on his own label Populuxe Records and things were going well until they contracted the other dreaded disease, the "I just wanna play on the weekends...ummm...maybe not. Maybe only one weekend night and maybe a Monday or Tuesday, but certainly not both" virus.
A solo project seemed eminent. Hence Atom Orr which started in 2002. After releasing 3 albums "Wake", "Noir", and "Asterisk", Christopher formed another band called the Truckee Brothers in 2004 and went by an a.k.a. "Cady Truckee". The band released 4 albums and seemingly was doing swimmingly well until they caught the same virus that Blacksmith Union caught...the "self-destruct just when things were going good" virus.
Prepared as all Boy Scouts are for these contingencies and it having it happen a few times, Christopher had not stopped his Atom Orr project and had released "Searching For Sparrows" and the EP "Los Feliz".
Which bring us to now. The new album "This Was Tomorrow"...due out in April 2011. An album consisting mainly of love songs, which until now, he's avoided. This avoidance is the very reason he wrote it. Stupidly, he has even began writing another album before he's even released this one. All businessmen/women shudder at this disregard for financial success, whilst he simply shrugs his shoulders and replies "I do want I fucking want to do." What will happen next? Will Christopher keep writing, recording in his little Black Forest? Yes. Will he start another band with friends being the glutton he is? Could be. Maybe. We'll fucking see...
Stay tuned for the next installement of "How to Guarantee Yourself to Eat a Burrito Everyday of For the Rest of Your Life" on Wednesday evenings at 7pm on A&O TV...
